An iconic gift for a new baby, the diaper cake comes from across the Atlantic. It's currently very trendy, and we'll show you how to make a creative diaper cake. Follow the guide!

The equipment

To make an original diaper cake, you will need:

• 64 small rubber bands

• 3 large rubber bands

• 2 cardboard tubes (paper towel rolls)

• 3 meters of jute rope

• A ribbon of your choice

• A piece of cardboard at least 32 cm in diameter

• Colored paper

• 61 stylishly designed diapers like our LILLYDOO diapers

• A pair of scissors

• Adhesive tape

• A ruler

• A compass or a large plate, as well as a small plate

The steps

Once you have gathered all the materials, you're ready to make your diaper cake:

1. Start by rolling each diaper one by one, and secure each roll with a small rubber band.

2. On the piece of cardboard, use a compass or a large plate to draw a circle with a diameter of 32 cm.

4. Now it's time to build the tiers: place 6 rolled-up diapers around your paper towel roll and secure them with one of the three large rubber bands. Then arrange 12 more diapers around them and tie them with a piece of jute string. To complete the bottom tier, add a third row of 18 diapers and secure everything with another piece of jute string. Your bottom tier is ready!

5. For the second tier, arrange 6 diapers around your paper towel roll and secure them with a large rubber band. Then add 12 more diapers and tie them with a piece of jute string.

6. The third tier completes the cake! Proceed as before by securing 6 diapers with a rubber band.

7. For the top of the diaper cake, you can create a tower by placing a final diaper roll tightly inside the toilet paper roll.

8. From your colored ribbon, cut 3 pieces measuring 115, 75, and 50 cm, and 3 smaller pieces measuring 35 cm.

9. Wrap each tier of your cake with a ribbon and tie it into a pretty bow. Place the 115 cm ribbon on the bottom tier, the 75 cm ribbon on the second tier, and the 50 cm ribbon on the third. The ribbons will cover the jute string.

10. Using the three 35 cm ribbons, make three knots and secure each one to a ribbon with a small rubber band cut in half.

11. To make the hat for the top of the diaper cake, draw and cut out a circle from a sheet of colored paper. Using scissors, cut a notch from the edge of the circle to the center. Fold the circle to create a 3D hat, then glue the notch. Place it on top of the diaper cake.
