Sissi with baby bump – 21st to 23rd week of pregnancy

Sissi with baby bump: 21st to 23rd week of pregnancy

In Winter 2018, our LILLYDOO midwife Sissi Rasche is expecting her third child! Despite her pregnancy expertise, these nine months with a baby in the belly remain simply magical for Sissi. And the best part: she takes you along on her exciting journey! Every two weeks, she provides an update on her pregnancy in our LILLYDOO magazine and shares her very personal experiences with you. In addition to five consistent questions about the current status, Sissi answers us in each column with a special additional question.

We wish you lots of fun accompanying Sissi with her (growing) baby bump in the coming months!

1. What is your current waist circumference? now?

My waist circumference is currently 83 cm. So it's now unmistakable that I am pregnant. ;)

2. How are you feeling right now?

My current mood is quite good. In the evenings, I am often exhausted, but I have neither bad mood nor mood swings, but am generally very positive.

3. What does your body tell you?

Actually, I am doing quite well right now. However, my body occasionally signals to me that it needs a break. Usually, I am more of a workaholic type and often on the go. It’s easy to neglect taking proper care of myself. Since I got pregnant, my body has been showing me more often when it’s time to slow down. Additionally, I have realized that it is very important for me to eat regularly. Without regular meals, nothing works at the moment. ;)

4. What cravings are you currently experiencing?

Although I don't have particularly strong cravings, I really enjoy eating ice cream at the moment, especially with these summer temperatures! My favorite flavor is our homemade mango-strawberry ice cream. I puree the frozen fruits and then refreeze the mixture with a splash of orange juice. Deliciously refreshing!

5. What was your most beautiful moment?

My most beautiful moment in the past few weeks? Hmm, there hasn't really been a specific one. Overall, I am just happy right now and feel that our third child completes our little family. Whenever I look at my two older children and then imagine the baby as well, it definitely feels completely right, and I am very excited about it!

How do you stay fit during your pregnancy?

Last year, I started quite an intensive training, so I was already pretty fit when I became pregnant. I want to maintain that and continue my :) I have a trainer who naturally considers my pregnancy when designing the workouts. Since childbirth requires a lot of strength, I also always recommend to the women I support to keep up their exercise during pregnancy. A certain basic fitness and endurance are definitely advantageous during labor. Which sport is best suited during pregnancy is very individual and depends, among other things, on whether you were already training before pregnancy. Those who have been regular runners for a longer time can continue doing so at the beginning of pregnancy, at least as long as it feels good. As for me, I don’t want to miss exercise as a balance and hope to be able to keep up my training for as long as possible.
