1. The right time
With baby bump: You carry your little explorer inside you for nine months. Eventually, when he is no longer quite so small and has gained some weight and size, many things become incredibly exhausting. The advice from studioline is therefore: schedule your shoot between the 30th and 36th week of pregnancy. During this time, your belly is nicely rounded, but has not yet dropped, and you are probably still more mobile.
With a newborn: The first weeks are a magical time for the whole family. Your baby is developing incredibly quickly. Therefore, it is advisable, if health permits, to schedule a newborn photoshoot as soon as possible after birth. Generally, studioline recommends the first 10 to 14 days for your first time in front of the camera together.
With baby and family: Your baby is about six months old? Perfect! A good time to take family photos. Your little explorer is now alert, showing his emotions, and easily excited. The biggest advantage is, however, that he is not yet mobile, so the basic conditions for a relaxed shoot are in place. ;)
2. The appropriate clothing
Basically: You should feel comfortable! If you want to take photos in underwear or with a bare stomach, it is advisable to wear loose clothing before the shoot that does not leave marks on the skin. Additionally, any clothing that showcases your belly well is suitable: whether dress, tight clothing, or casual jeans and T-shirt, the choice is yours. However, make sure that none of the pieces are small patterned, as this often causes optical distortions in photos. If you want to capture your newest miracle as a family, it looks more harmonious if you coordinate your outfits in terms of color.
3. The perfect make-up
There is absolutely nothing against wearing your usual daily makeup. However, on the day of the shoot, it can also be a little more, as the flash "swallows" a bit.
It is also important that all adults powder themselves directly before the shoot. This prevents unsightly shine and improves the skin appearance. Don't worry if you don't have powder with you: studioline is well equipped and will gladly powder you on site.
4. Personal accessories
Baby and newborn: Do you have a pacifier chain handcrafted by the godparents or a beautiful ultrasound picture? Then be sure to bring along such small accessories. This way, you can make your photos even more personal and incorporate these little details in future shoots. This ensures that important companions are included in the family album from the very beginning.
Baby and Family: Each family member has their own hobby? Then feel free to bring your accessories that highlight this aspect of your personality: whether skateboard, favorite teddy bear, or soccer ball — everything that is wearable is allowed.
5. Your image presentation
Research beforehand if you would like to implement a specific motif. Feel free to get inspired online beforehand and create a small gallery with image ideas.
