Every pregnancy is unique, and every pregnant woman has her own individual needs. Among all the tips and advice you receive, one thing is especially important: listen to your intuition and your needs. Still, there are a few things that can make your time with a baby bump easier. So here it is: our non-binding but helpful list of material and emotional pregnancy must-haves.
1. Side sleeper or nursing pillow
Depending on your favorite sleeping position, a nursing pillow or side sleeper pillow can make sleeping much easier early in pregnancy. As your belly grows, lying down often becomes more uncomfortable. The pillow supports your belly and relieves your spine. You can also use it after pregnancy when you are breastfeeding your baby. When purchasing, however, you should pay attention to the material—many women report that a rustling filling (similar to a bean bag) disturbs them as they fall asleep. Additionally, a skin-friendly outer material feels pleasant and helps prevent skin irritation.
2. Comfortable shoes and underwear
During pregnancy, your feet go through a lot! Your baby—and, consequently, you—become heavier, and your body's center of gravity shifts. Your feet help balance all of this. So treat yourself to a pair of very comfortable shoes for everyday wear—ideally, ones you can easily put on and take off even with a larger belly. Extra tip: For sneakers, there are rubber "laces" that quickly turn your shoes into slip-ons—no more tying laces. Comfortable underwear is also important during pregnancy. Nothing should pinch or press, even as your body changes. Feeling comfortable is, after all, a priority!
3. Pregnancy Care Oil
The first thing that comes to mind when it comes to skin oil during pregnancy is preventing stretch marks. At LILLYDOO, we believe you can wear them with pride! Taking good care of your skin is good for both your skin and your well-being, regardless. A gentle belly massage is also something your baby can enjoy. It's a wonderful opportunity for a shared moment of well-being (also with your partner). The oil is 100% natural, nourishing, and caring, and it promotes skin elasticity.
4. Snacks
During pregnancy, your baby is also nourished through the placenta, which also benefits your little explorer. Many pregnant women find it more comfortable to eat lots of small snacks throughout the day instead of large meals. This can also help with nausea or sudden cravings. Of course, it can be an unhealthy snack sometimes during pregnancy. However, if you always keep some healthy options at home, it’s easier to eat what is good for you and your baby. Anything related to dietary supplements for pregnant women should, however, be discussed with your doctor beforehand. They can also give you general tips on nutrition during pregnancy.
5. Consultation with a midwife
Even during pregnancy, a midwife’s advice and experience can be very helpful and reassuring. She accompanies you and your baby through this exciting time, cares for you in the postpartum period, and can sometimes even be present at the birth. In times of midwife shortages, however, it is not always easy to find a midwife. That is why, in our article “ ”, you will find support.

And if you like, you can also receive our #momlife pregnancy guide as a compact companion and advisor delivered directly to your home. That way, it's always at hand when you need it!
7. A "Wow, I look great" piece of clothing
During pregnancy, your body changes a lot. And even if it has the most beautiful reason, sometimes you simply need time to get used to it. You've probably already looked into maternity wear, but treat yourself to at least one piece of clothing in which you feel completely comfortable and beautiful. It can be a dress, a T-shirt, or a super comfortable pair of pants. The main thing is that it gives you a great feeling when you look in the mirror. Because: Wow, you are beautiful!
8. A musical box
Did you know that your baby can already perceive sounds in the womb? From about the third trimester, you and your partner can talk to your baby, and your little one can also listen to music. If you already have a music box ready that you regularly play for your little explorer, your baby will remember it after birth and feel very secure. If the music box is a cuddly toy, you can also take it with you to bed. It will then smell like you and provide additional comfort for your baby.
9. Moments of relaxation
Especially toward the end of pregnancy, stress can easily creep in. Everything needs to be quickly organized, set up, and taken care of before the birth. Additionally, many pregnant women sleep worse during this time and generally feel more restless. So take as many moments of relaxation as possible. It could be an hour with a good book and a cup of tea in your favorite chair, a massage, a walk, or simply a nap—whatever you prefer! (But be careful: you should only start drinking raspberry leaf tea in the last four weeks of pregnancy. Whether it actually promotes labor is debated among experts, but it’s better not to take any risks, right?) Our tip: the right music has a positive effect on your body and mind. A playlist with gentle sounds, where stress and tension disappear in no time, can be found on our LILLYDOO Spotify channel.
10. A place for memories
You will surely look back fondly on the special time of pregnancy. Your little explorer will also eventually ask what it was like when he was still in your belly. So create a place where you can preserve the most beautiful and defining moments of pregnancy. This could be a plaster cast of your baby bump, a photo album, or a pregnancy journal. In our article “ ”, you can find further inspiration.
Your pregnancy is an exciting, wonderful time. But we also know that it can bring its own unique challenges in everyday life—and that is completely normal. We hope our little tips help you overcome these hurdles so you can enjoy your time with your baby bump to the fullest. Wishing you a fantastic pregnancy!
